Introduction to

the Story of "Ma"

Anandamayi Ma, or "Ma" walked among us for 86 years. Her well documented power over people and even matter was similar to what was said of Jesus.

However, in her case the stories were not reinterpreted and handed down for centuries. They were witnessed first-hand by people who are still alive today.

Statesmen and scientists from around the world came to visit her. Her life, although not well known in the West, was well documented in writings and photos.

It is said that during the earth's history spiritual icons are incarnated at regular intervals to help guide the destiny of people. Most have been men. However, in this case a spiritually advanced being chose to incarnate and live out a life as a woman in a highly paternalistic culture.
